Don't miss my recent feature on the Hälsohormoner podcast.

I recently app Hälsohormoner a podcast that covers everything that affects our hormones.

One of the hosts Sofia is a client of mine, we worked together not only to get help with her SIBO, but also with her health on an even deeper level.

In the first episode, we start as usual with the basics! What made me, a former Olympic athlete, want to work with health through the nervous system (combined with functional medicine)?

Many of my clients have done most things right on paper, yet their stomachs are upset, they have anxiety or feel depressed, and perhaps have autoimmune diseases. Maybe there is a piece of the puzzle that is missing.

I want to help us bring the body and the head together - where the nervous system is the bridge in between. In what ways can the nervous system be dysfunctional, how do the fight, flight, and freeze responses affect us, what qualifies as trauma (hint: more things than you think!), how does the vagus nerve affect gut health, and how can we replace some of our more destructive cutting blankets with e.g. somatic exercises.

Most of us have probably, for many different reasons, ended up in what I mention as "too much too fast, or too little for too long". So what can we do to get out of it and let the nervous system feel safe again, regardless of whether we are "stuck" there due to previous events in life, or are in the middle of it right now? (Listen to the end to experience for yourself how a somatic exercise can give a direct response to the nervous system!).

In the second part of the interview, we go more into the nervous system work in practice, by hearing Sofia's experiences of working with me.
